“ Mirror , mirror on the wall, who’s the most gorgeous of them all?”

If the answer is you, then you are just doing fine.

If not, then the following tips will help you LOOK AT YOUR BEST:-

•    CLEANSING is the key to a clear skin, so make sure that the right cleansing lotion gets pride of place on your dressing table.
•    BLOCK THE SUN with a sunscreen lotion before you apply any make up. ( Try first defense advanced antioxidant lotion from Elizabeth arden with SPF15 or the Clarins multi active day cream gel. For a mature woman, Elizabeth arden’s ceramide plump perfect moisture cream with SPF30 will be ideal. Keep a fresh pot/stick of  foundation or concealer, they help to even out your skin tone and hide imperfections.
•    POWDER PUFF for loose and compact powder application.
•    BRUSHES for blusher, lipstick and eye shadow.
•    WIPES, tissues, cotton and cotton buds are essential.
•    HADWARE: nail filer, scissors, tweezers, comb and hair brush.
•    MAGNIFYNG MIRROR- the most important and useful item when you’re trying to pluck that irritating brow hair or apply your make up perfectly.
•    BOTTLE OF PERFUME : you just need to keep one bottle out for easy access ( one that works on all occasions).

Now ask your mirror that all important question again and you can’t go wrong ever.

LAWS OF THE FASHION POLICE

Posted in Fashion and Beauty on July 18th, 2010 by mon60006 – Be the first to comment

1.    KNOW YOURSELF, THEN GET DRESSED

It is rare when a woman really understands what looks best on her, and what does not. Rare still, is the woman who keeps pace with the changes in her circumstances, without morphing into an overdone clotheshorse. Rule number one: look in the mirror. Think. Repeat as necessary.

2.    MAKE FIT THE FOCUS, NOT QUALITY

No matter what the glossies tell you, the right cut reigns supreme. Always. So, ask around for a good tailor. If his name gets mentioned twice in your party circuit, run to this man!

3.    A CHEAP DRESS FITS NOBODY

Ok, so quality matters too, because cheap won’t last you long. Get the best dress you can afford, even if you can’t quite afford it. You’ll always reach for the same two or three numbers that draw wolf whistles every time you sashay in it.

4.    GROOM, GROOM, GROOM !

Chip, file, wax, buff. Take a second look, buff again. A woman must, mean MUST always have perfectly turned neat hands and feet. Chipped nails, peeling nail polish and dirty feet are hugely, grossly, and unforgivably ugh!
5.    COMFORT FIRST

Ok, so you paid a bomb for a YSL bustier but at the end of the day, you want to look and feel comfortable, right? Pants that you can’t breathe in and shoes you can’t walk in, ain’t doing your image any favours.

6.    ONE PAIR OF TOP QUALITY SHOES

A good classic leather shoe, rotated throughout the year, should last for five years or more. To break them in blister free: Wear them for brief, gradually increasing periods, removing them as soon as they begin to bother you.

7. CHECK WAR POINT

Red may be hot, but perhaps not on your cheeks! Technique is in so learn how to enhance your features with the right make up. Tarts died with the carnival.

8.TWO RINGS, ONE WRISTWATCH

Okay you can add tiny chains around your throat, a cute thin bracelet on your wrist, a generous splash of Chanel 5 (don’t forget dap down the cleavage) to heighten a sense of mysterious drama around your aura.

9.    WEAR CONFIDENCE WITH GRACE

Think Grace Kelly, Jackie Kennedy, Audrey Hepburn. The world loved these women for their immense sense of style, supreme grace and a quiet intelligence that made them icons of feminity. Cultivate your own style statement. And be consistent with what is you.

10.    AND DESPITE WHAT MOSES SAID, LAWS WERE MADE TO BE BROKEN

When you’re ready, you’ll know. Cheers.

Shake up the surface!

Cause a fashion ripple by twisting textures. Here are some simple dos to set you off:
  • Say it with flowers – Grab your own garden with an actual flower bower on a summery number.

  • Play hide asnd seek with floral appliques on net or chiffon.
  • Zip some zari – Our traditional metal work makes new waves abroad. Give your clothes some zari zing.
  • Glitter everywhere – Shine like there is no tomorrow with sequins.
  • Bling bumps – Hang on some pearls and beads to bring instant zing.
  • Weave it in – the simplest way to ride the trend – weave some texture onto you.
  • Crush ‘em right – Play with pleats, ruffles, cowls and gathers to create some waves on your drapes.
  • Make a quilt – Puff up your outfit with quilting technique.

Toe Tucker

These days, doctors seem to be discovering new fat repositories in our bodies. Now an American doctor claims to trim the fat off the feet, or “foot tuck surgery” as it is called. It is for all those women who are too ashamed to expose their flabby feet. We see why this is more important than finding a cure for cancer.

Body Wisdom

Another way to listen to your self is to check in with your body wisdom. Our bodies give us messages and clues all the time about what is going on with us in the form of aches and pains, tight jaws, knots in the stomach, fatigue, or shallow breathing. What many of us do though, is to ignore what our bodies are saying and instead dismiss them to just being a limb to our heads.

To point a few examples: Do you get sick to your stomach when you drive to work? Do you suffer from Sunday night insomnia? If yes, then your body is telling you loud and clear that something is wrong at work. Do you ignore these messages from your body and continue to suffer? Or do you listen to them and do whatever it takes to make changes so that you can look forward to your work? Doing whatever it takes may mean resolving a conflict with a boss or co-worker, finding a new job, or following your dream to become self-employed.

Hair Clear

There comes a time in almost every woman’s life when she banishes black from her wardrobe and creeps about in pale pastels, whatever the time of day or season. Because whenever she moves her hair around – let alone comb or brushes, she sets off a veritable snowstorm of flakes. And that is lesser evil compared to the plight of ladies who lunch in scarves and caps in sweaty summer to hide a peek-a-boo scalp form prying eyes.

Hair problems can be broadly classified into three categories: Hair loss or thinning, scalp-related and hair grooming. The reasons for these problems could range from disease to neglect and remedies are certainly cause specific.
