Tuning into the right station

Every morning this week, take 5 minutes before you start your day to sit and reflect, meditate, or contemplate – whatever suits you. Get comfortable. Don’t think. Concentrate on your breathing and just be. That may be hard for you, but do it anyway.
When you notice that you are thinking about your daily to-do list or what you are going to say to your boss later that morning, acknowledge the thoughs and re-focus your attention on your breath. Do this refocusing as often as is necessary. If morning is not the best time for you, then do it in the evening before you go to bed. The important thing is to do it.
Just 5 minutes a day to get quiet and listen to yourself will get your day off to a good start. You will be more relaxed, you will be more centered within yourself, and you may even find that the answers to some questions or puzzling situations you have will surface. It is one of the simplest and most beneficial things you can do for yourself.
